This is so boring, it's not even fun anymore

I seriously don't know what is wrong with my life but it has become seriously boring. Like... utterly. The lectures in the university are the most boring I have yet endured. The weather is boring. Driving school is (mostly) boring. I don't even suffer any mental disorders to spice up my life anymore.

This. Sucks. A lot.

So there it is. I don't know what to write. My life doesn't change at all, I don't experiment with new kinds of food, I don't wear skirts and high heels just for thrills, I don't go shopping, I don't visit my friends in other cities, I don't participate in any sports, I don't get laid, I code in Java every day and every night, I utterly and totally suck in my life at the moment.

I need to come up with something real fast I guess.

RIGHT NOW: Doing absolutely nothing, would you believe it.

Merry Christmas!

And thus after three weeks of procrastination being busy with my university stuff, I am back to blogging!

First and foremost, let me introduce... my new kitty! My Dad was litterally going out of his mind without a cat, visiting her grave everyday and all, so we decided that we'd rather get a new cat than get murdered one night... OK, maybe I am exaggerating a tiny bit, but still. Now we have a new little critter to bother us and Dad isn't as irritating anymore.

This time it's a male kitty. He's only seven weeks old but already quite an evil cute little creature. Most of the time he spends chewing my hand, my bootlaces, my boots, my anything. The rest of the time he, of course, sleeps. Anyway, he's quite pretty, being totally white and little and having cute eyes... Evil bastard.

What else? Well, since everyone hates me and I am an evil bastard, I didn't get any Christmas presents this year. Yay! Ah, whatever, not that I cared about presents much anyway. People usually give crap presents these days anyhow. I still have a slight hope to get some presents from several persons I didn't meet yet, but I'm not expecting much. And if you must ask, no, I didn't give presents to anyone either, because all my presents are crap as well. Maybe I will give something to a couple of people who seem to mean a bit more than usual... But I wouldn't have high hopes in their place either.

Expected more, huh? Well, shit, I live a boring life, what would you expect? Feeding overweight tigers with chicken?

By the way, if you're feeling a strong inclination to kill yourself but don't want to do the dirty job yourself, force me to listen to Christmas songs. I guarantee it won't hurt... me... a lot. Well, OK, Mariah Carey looked kind of sexy in that black and white music video, but that's as far as I can go. I have a very low Christmas song threshold before I go completely bananas.

RIGHT NOW: Listening to Nick Cave's "Murder Ballads". Now that's what I call proper music for winter. By the way, this winter sucks. There is no trace of snow, and it's frigging end of December... If I don't get proper white Christmas in the next ten years, I am going on anti-global-warming motherfuckers killing spree.

Segfault

A day when you have to carefully read through 500 lines of code to find, what causes segmentation fault is not what I call a good day.

A day when you have to find an eternal cycle in the same lines of code after you catch the cause of segmentation fault isn't fun either.

Knowing that tomorrow you have a midterm test of Data Bases from SQL, when you have never in your life studied SQL and you have never ever been to Data Bases lectures - simply priceless.

Well, at least it snowed a bit today. I love snow.

I have a couple of thousands of Python lines still to come. Small part of them - tomorrow. A bigger chunk - next week.

Why why oh why do I understand programming? I could be some stupid moron instead and study... I don't know, marketing, management, anything else? Or, on another hand, why am I not a chick and can't use their *blink blink*, *look at me, I'm so cute, ain't I, so you wouldn't hurt me with a bad mark, would you?* and other special weapons that would help me immeasurably in this situation?

RIGHT NOW: Reading Phillip K. Dick's "A Scanner Darkly". I actually saw the movie first and was impressed (because Keanu Reeves is soooo cute, and I'm not even gay (no matter what Tiffy says)). I have also read Dick's "Ubik", which is also a very weird book. But they are well written weird books, I can give him that.

P.S. Sorry for a bit harder on the eyes blog background, but the previous got bugged for no apparent reason, and it's too late to spend additional five minutes carefully choosing from the pregenerated blog layouts (like I would ever bother with creating my own layouts anyway).

Evil Public Transportation

Public transportation is evil in its purest form, and don't try to convince me otherwise after I spent an hour in a traffic jam and another hour walking home because I figured that would be way faster. And the cause for that - trolleybus tore down the wires (I have no idea, how) and rendered whole sector powerless, and since it is one of the busiest intersections, there was line of thirty or even more trolleybuses in no time. I took a picture of the damn trolleybus which caused all this havoc, but my Bluetooth is not willing to cooperate with my Linux, so you will have to wait for that pic.

On a brighter note, I will have four days off, since it's a national holiday of... well, going to cemeteries and paying tributes to our dead ones. Sorry, we're not as cool as those Americans are and we don't celebrate Helloween walking around asking candy. We got holidays in the middle of February for that, and since the weather is almost always shitty these days, no one cares.

On a still brighter note, I get to sleep right now!

RIGHT NOW: convincing my computer to connect with my telephone and trying to launch several Windows applications on Linux interchangeably. The latter is a bit more successful, I actually got some of the simplier Windows programs to work on Wine.

Statistics

If you're really really interested, I am pretending to study for statistics midterm right now, which will be in an hour or so.

Whatever happened to my weekends? Right now it seems I'm doing a lot more work at weekends than I am on weekdays!

On a side note, my new pants are noisy. I didn't notice it until last night, when I went to the happy place. God, this was the first time when I seriously tried to walk as silently as possible, because my pants were making noise while walking!

OK, this will be it. I don't have any idea what else to write, because nothing fucking happens right now, and I work whole day, and it's boring.

RIGHT NOW: Eating breakfast, d'uh.

Laguna Seca, (Almost) Exploded Cars and Fluffy (?) Comedians

How do you tell you have a great day? You wake up at 2 PM! Then you spend two hours doing nothing (you tell people you're eating breakfast at 3 PM to freak them out and shit), then you turn your favourite F1 simulator (with Prototype Car mod this time though) and drive alone around Laguna Seca racetrack for two hours. And by alone I mean no frigging AI. Completely alone. I did around 70 laps there. If you think I went out of my mind... Well, no, I didn't. I still went to pee. If I were crazy, such little inconveniences wouldn't make me leave the game.

Well, actually, that was just a test whether the cars (and me) would hold out the whole race for a little championship I plan to run. If you count 25 race marathon with most races taking 2 hours and some even up to three a little championship, that is. I do. Racing 30 minutes for me is like masturbation - it's just not a real thing. I can't call it a proper race. So there, me and one of my friends are trying to find several more madmen or madwomen who'd be willing to waste several hours of their lives every weekend doing laps in a circuit they have no chance to see in their lives, much less drive it. Would be fun... if there were such people of course, but I find it very hard to believe.

Anyway, what I really wanted to share with you was a picture of burnt down car in front of my house. It was blown up two nights ago. Funnily, there were two firetrucks to put the flames out. I mean, seriously, most often only one comes to a burning house, what a fuck? If they see that flames are open, they just don't bother and wait until everything burns down, because you will have to demolish everything to build a new house anyway, so what a hell, why bother at all? Well, OK, maybe I am exaggerating a bit, but still, two firetrucks seemed to be one too many. The fire didn't even get to the fuel cell. Of course, that's kind of sad, because I am a huge fan of free fireworks, but, uh, OK, at least the sonic boom from explosion didn't smash my windows, I don't mind.

The problem is, I didn't get the picture. The burning happened at night, and my phone camera is crap in darkness. The next day I was too occupied with midterm exams and shit. Last night I remember I have to take a picture burnt down car... and yay, I didn't even go out today. I was too lazy to do that, how sick is that? God, I think if it were 70's, I'd be living in the basement and playing D&D and shit. Good thing we don't have basement, because we live in a flat. Anyway, I still blame the fact that I don't have a girlfriend. And don't try to convince me that this is circular logic, because to get girls I have to get out. Don't. Even. Think. About. It.

RIGHT NOW: Watching Gabriel Iglesias stand-ups. That... uh... fluffy guy is funny as hell. Too bad YouTube doesn't have a lot of his videos up. Ah well.

Racing Sunday

Muhahahahahahaha!!! When my belief in Formula One is almost completely shattered, something worth watching happens. This time the biggest jerk and whiny kid of all times Fernando Alonso wanted to ensure daddy's boy Lewis Hamilton doesn't win the championship that the Drunken Finn gets the championship. Muhahahahaha!!! Stupid pricks... It doesn't matter that Massa was "unintentionally" held up a bit to make sure Raikkonen comes out first. It doesn't matter at all. Alonso's idiocy was more than enough to make me happy.

Anyway, all the evil laugh aside, I still think that Formula One sucks. There are a lot reasons for that, and it would take too long to name them all. Let's just summarize it in one word - BORING!!! When the most interesting thing in the race is when will someone pit, I somehow feel it shouldn't be called race at all. How about "colourful high speed parade"?

RIGHT NOW: Watching "Subway 500" in Martinsville Speedway. Maybe NASCAR is a redneck sport, maybe its races are a couple of hours too long and maybe it is stupid to run laps with left turns only, but heck, at least them are racing each other and don't go into "saving mode" with twenty laps to go.

Formula One needs cautions badly. That and more talented drivers who don't advocate installing bloody chicanes wherever the car is doing anywhere near 200 miles per hour. And some more interesting points system. And...

Concurrent programming

This... day... was... bloody... boring. I spent most of it procrastinating, and when I managed to convince myself to do something, it was Java app I have to do for Wednesday, because there was nothing better to do! I feel like I am degrading more and more day by day. This shit is terrible. Seriously. Think about it.

I did my Concurrent Programming homework because it was the funniest thing I could do at the moment.

If that doesn't strike fear or sense of pity into your hearts, you're a heartless motherfucker.

Anyway, late in the evening my sanity came back for a while. In the spring I got hooked with paper modelling. I grew tired of it after a while, mainly because the model I picked was crappy, but this autumn I got interested again and now I'm building an "Albatros" airplane. It's not too fancy and it's not a very difficult model, and it will definitely look weird because my skills are crap, but hey, this is ten million times funnier than coding concurrent shit.

RIGHT NOW: Watching Eddie Murphy's "Delirious" stand-up. Admitedly, he's not my favourite comedian of all times (I like Stephen Lynch, Pablo Francisco, Russell Peters, Monty Python (all six of them), Rowan Atkinson etc. a lot more), but heck, he still got some good jokes. And what's a better way to waste your night anyway?
